Ajin, demi humans that only realize they are Ajin at the moment they die, simply because they just come back to life. The development of the plot carries on in very appropriate ways for its setting, the characters have very good reasons for each of their actions and all the characters react in ways you'd except in each situation based off their personalities.
Ajin: Demi-Human -Compel-Kei discovers the curse of immortality when he gets hit by a bus... and doesn't die. Now on the run from a government that wants to experiment on him, and his fellow Ajin, Kei's only hope to live a peaceful life lies in his ability to learn how to use his new powers.
What does it mean to be human? That’s the big theme at the heart of Ajin: Demi-Human – Compel, the first in a trilogy of anime films out in Japan this November from Polygon Pictures (Knights of Sidonia).
To explain, the Ajin are immortal and considered a different species, but they are completely indistinguishable from humans until they die and come back to life. Once revealed, they are treated aggressively as The Other, completely dehumanized by everyone, even their own families, and cruelly experimented on.
